Vote for Wharfedale Grange in the UK Wedding Awards 2019

Do you still do summer fruits?

2017 will be our last year of pick your own fruit. We apologise for any inconveniences or disappointment to regular and long standing customers.

Do you still do asparagus and rhubarb?

We will continue to grow and sell ready picked asparagus and rhubarb from our Fabulous Flower Shed.

Why are you changing?

The farm is now just 22 acres of glorious Yorkshire countryside and as such the pick your own is no longer a stand alone viable proposition. For the last few years we have supplemented this with weddings but we can’t do any more than 15 due to licensing laws which has ultimately left us with many disappointed couples.

Example wedding day timings

If you are having a civil ceremony:

  • Bride arrives with her bridesmaids in the morning to get ready in our stunning bridal preparation room.
  • Wedding in our stunning North Barn any time to suit you in the afternoon.
  • Celebration drink, wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing in the South Barn.
  • Carriages at midnight.

If you are having a church ceremony:

  • Bride and bridesmaids are still welcome to get ready in our bridal preparation room.
  • Arrival at Wharfedale Grange anytime after 12pm for a celebratory drink.
  • Wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing in the South Barn.
  • Carriages at midnight.

Top tips for a stress free wedding day

  • Don’t arrange to do too much on the morning of your wedding, stick to appointments in the week before, leaving just hair and make-up on the day.
  • Stop worrying about the the weather, this is England, it will do what it wants.
  • Don't worry, we want you to be a guest at your wedding not a member of staff. leave all the details to us and your personal event coordinator who you will have formed a relationship, with will be on hand to ensure the smooth running of your perfect day.
  • Make a date with your new spouse during the reception, even if its just for 5 to 10 minutes. there are lots of secret spots here at Wharfedale Grange that only you will know about!
  • Designate an usher or a bridesmaid, ideally one of each and the least shy, to work with your photographer so you can enjoy being the celebrity on your day having your group photos taken, without being the one who has to corral everyone into position.
  • Allocate another bridesmaid or usher to gather keepsakes for you; such as a copy of the program, name cards, wedding menu etc…
  • Remember, this is real life and you can’t control everything… babies will cry, flower girls will have a strop, buttons may drop off!
